About Me

I started this blog back in 2008 as a way for friends and family and to keep up with what was happening with my daughter, Grace, who was born in 2003 with special needs.  Um…it never made it past the first post.  Oops.  Anyhoo, it has been resurrected not only to talk about Grace, but also about my son, Fisher, my husband Eric and the crazy life we lead as a family in the Midwest.
What prompted me to start this back up is my running.  I started running in July 2010, after having an AHA! Moment in April 2010.  Yeah, I’m slow to get up and go…took me three months to do something about it.  Actually, that’s exaggerating.  I started biking first and worked my way into running.  I started with the Couch to 5K program, and never looked back.  I swear it was a life saver for me.
Now I am off and running-literally!  However, I’m not athletic by nature.  I really work for it.  I have NO coordination, as my husband will attest.  (I’ve been begging him to take me to dance classes-like the Tango or even a two-step-for years and he refuses.  I think he rather likes his toes as they are).  I REALLY like high heeled shoes.  I REALLY don’t like to sweat.  And I REALLY like chocolate and red wine.  All this adds up to an unlikely runner, no?
I’m a thirty-something professional work-outside-the-home mom of two, who’s just trying to get through the day and between trying to keep the house from looking like an EF-5 tornado went through it and lovin’ on my peeps, fitting in time for a run.
Thanks for stopping by, and please join me on my journey.  I’m sure you will find something to laugh at me about, or maybe an “Oh thank god, I’m not the only one” moment of parenthood/spouse-hood.
